With 37 years experience as a stylist, colorist and haircutter, Kristen Marquette has opened Studio KTM in Red Hook. Introducing NATULIQUE certified organic and ammonia free color products, those nervous about their interaction with chemicals can relax. Kristen’s concerns about chemicals led her to find a brand of color that limited her exposure to ammonia and by extension the exposure of clients. Services include cut and color for men and women, shampoo and blow dry, single process color, highlights, balayage and ombre.
“This is an exciting time for me, to be able to focus on the health and wellness of my clients”, says owner-operator Kristen Marquette. “The cosmetic world is surprisingly unhealthy and it is my mission to offer healthier alternatives for hair color. What we put on our bodies is as important as what we put in.”
Kristen’s career includes years as a stylist and then a salon manager for Glemby International, the premier salon group of the ‘60s and ‘70s. As a rep for Origins Cosmetics she conducted numerous trainings and events and most recently spent years as an Aveda colorist, cutter and stylist.
In addition to magazine styling, Kristen has spent the last 23 years as the costumer and production designer for Murder Café Dinner Theatre and Theatre on the Road, two production companies owned and operated by Kristen's husband, Frank Marquette.
Kristen continues, “ Image is everything. Ask anyone- man, woman or child, everyone cares how they look. I help make their vision a reality.”
